Self-regulation is hard! But together we can help your child do hard things - with our 6-week parent/child Powerfully You™ group.
What is Powerfully You™ ?
PY is a social emotional learning curriculum with a focus on self-regulation.
It was designed by American Occupational Therapists, Amy Lewis and Heather Spann.
It teaches kids to tune into their own bodies, arousal states and emotions in a way that's easy for them.
It teaches emotional regulation tools through connection and compassion.
It will give YOU, as the parent/caregiver, the tools to support your child by leaning into your relationship with them.
Emma, Kristina, Regan, and Alanna have completed the training and are Powerfully You™ Providers.
How will Powerfully You™ help your family?
Add to your family tool-kit of research informed self-regulation strategies
Begin using ‘body signals’ to self-regulate, improve attention and mindfulness
Understand the importance of ‘connection’ and how it relates to behaviour
Lean into self-compassion as a way of improving self-esteem
Indulge in a curriculum that respects and embraces differences
PY Group Details
This unique 6-week group will run with with the parents and children attending separate sessions.
Children’s Group
Your child(ren) will attend a weekly, 1-hour, in-person group to learn the week’s concepts and practice with peers in a safe, fun, and compassionate nature space.
For Example: Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:00pm at Todmorden Mills Park
Led by Emma, OT Reg. (Ont.)
Parent/Caregiver Group
Parents/caregivers will attend a Weekly 30-minute virtual group to learn about the week’s concepts, tips and tricks to implement concepts at home and a space to ask questions and problem solve with peers & OT.
For Example: Thursdays, 7:30pm-8:00pm Virtually via Google Meet

Body Sensing (tuning into our body’s cues)
Activation (learning about energy levels)
Body Battery (learning about self-care and resilience)
Self-regulation Tools (practicing sensory-based tools)
Battery Draining & Charging Thoughts (learning to address challenging thoughts)
Perspectives (exploring perspective taking through a compassionate lens)
